Saturday, January 24th.-
Today's picture is of the ice back up in the Black River.
They actually brought in huge crains to try and break up the ice and unblock the mouth of the river, so the ice could flow out into the St. Clair river, which meets up with Lake Huron just a couple of miles away. The water rose almost 20 feet in many areas along the banks of the Black River, flooding many roads and homes along the way.
The road(overpass) in the back round is I-94 just before the International Blue Water Bridge leading into Sarnia, Canada from Port Huron, Michigan, USA. The other picture is of the flooding in the back yards of local homes along the river, showing the Boat house almost completely underwater and ice.
