Monday, January 26th.-
Today's picture is of the Three Sister's, Kristee-13, Kelcee-15, Lacee-17.
In the chests that Kristee made for her sisters, she included a poem she found online, here is the poem she copied and placed in the chests.
-----
THREE SISTER'S
By Francis I. Gillespie

We are three sisters
Three sisters are we
I love each of you,
And I know you love me.

We're not always together,
Life sometimes keeps us apart,
But We're never separated
We're in each other's heart.

Now I know we've had our troubles,
But we always get thru.
The real message is you love me,
And I also love you.

We have had lots of good times
That we'll never forget
Sometimes we worry,
And sometimes we fret,

But if God ever gave me
Something special you see,
It might have been the blessing of,
Three sisters are we.
The Lord above has gave me lots
Of happiness and glee,
But the most special thing he did was
Make us sisters, all three.

Sunday, January 25th.-
This is a picture of the second Chest Kristee did for her sister Lacee. Again, she was very conscious of what design to use for Lacee's personal likes and did a fantastic job.

Saturday, January 24th.-
Today's picture is of the ice back up in the Black River.
They actually brought in huge crains to try and break up the ice and unblock the mouth of the river, so the ice could flow out into the St. Clair river, which meets up with Lake Huron just a couple of miles away. The water rose almost 20 feet in many areas along the banks of the Black River, flooding many roads and homes along the way.
The road(overpass) in the back round is I-94 just before the International Blue Water Bridge leading into Sarnia, Canada from Port Huron, Michigan, USA. The other picture is of the flooding in the back yards of local homes along the river, showing the Boat house almost completely underwater and ice.

Friday, January 23rd.-
Today I would like you to meet Lacee Leigh. Lacee is my second oldest grandaugher and she just turned 17 on the 14th of January this year. Lacee is very involved in many extra things in school including the Marching band, and theater. She also carries a very high grade average and works part time at Burger King in her home town (about 2 years). She is very excited about getting her drivers license in the next couple of months. I have to say she has become a very caring.giving, outgoing young lady, who remains funloving and happy, and is looking forward to going to college when she completes high school next year. She currently resides with her dad and step-mom and new baby brother.
This picture is of her opening her Birthday presents at her party we had for her.

Thurs. January 22-
More snow today-yuck!
Today I am going to share with you a picture of one of the wooden chests Kristee decorated for her sister kelcee for Christmas. These were bought a couple of years ago and never finished, so kristee finished one each for her sisters. This blue one was done for Kelcee, as she loves bright, flowery type things. I think she did a wonderful job and she is beginning to become crafty a bit.

Wed. January 21-

Today I am going to introduce you to Tilli. She our female Yorkshire Terrier, weights 3 pounds and is almost 7. In her mind she weights at least 200 pounds and stands 6 feet tall, and acts like it. We added her to our family with the intention of mating her and Tomi, but right from the start she was having nothing to do with it, so after a couple of years we gave up.
This picture was taken of her sitting on her pillow on the desk drawer I pull out for her, as she likes to be close to one of us most of the time, including sleeping under the bed covers curled up against one of us.

She is one of the joys of life that God has blessed us with.

Tuesday, January 20th-

Well, not only did we make history today with our new President taking office, but kyree started dance lessons also. She will be 23 months on the 22 and is by far the youngest in her class. Grandma says she did pretty good and was fine with being left alone with the other kids and dance instructors. She loves to run and jump and dance around so this seemed like a natural thing for her to begin to learn. She is the little one in the brown skirt with her back to the camera.

Monday, January 19th.-

Well again, we had a blast of snow this morning. Got another 2.5 inches in an hour! Seems like it snows every day now. At least we are out of the subzero temps for a couple of days. It got all the way up to 20 degrees today! Woohoo!

My picture today, is one of life little silly things, that just make you smile.

I had asked my grandaughter for an inkpen for Christmas and this is what she came up with! Isn't it wonderful. Of course, Kyree thinks its hers and I have to hide it when she is here.

Sunday, January 18th.

Yep, here is Dick and Tim(lives next door), digging out again from another one of Old Man Winter's blasts. Enough is enough! Please no more snow.

Sat. January 17th.-

Well here they are, Ashley and Kyree, and Kyle(not in the pic)having a wonderful time in DisneyWorld in Florida, as we are digging out yet again from another blast of old man winter and subzero temps!

This was sent via Ashley's cell phone(which really never reached any of us and we had to download it off her phone onto the computer when she got home on Monday).

Friday, January 16th.-
Todays picture is of one of God's Miracles! 151 passengers and not one seriously hurt.
This was snapped off my tv on Fox news.

Thursday, January 15-

Today I am sharing with you a project I did for Robin for Christmas.

The pictures are of Kyree's first trip to the Pumpkin Patch with Grandma(Robin) and cousin Paula. I love how this turned out. The tag shapes are made from pressed board, then I used Mod Podge to attach the paper and pic's.
then Mod Podged over everything including the ribbon and embelly's.

Wen. January 14th-

Today I am going to share with you a find I got last summer at a garage sale for a quarter each.

These are wooden spice racks with the little glass jars. I dumped all the spices, cause who knows how old they were. Then I got out my trusty MM paints and painted them and fill them with all my eyelets(all sorted by size and color and shape). Since they are on turntables, its makes for a really easy way to find just what I'm looking for.

Tuesday, January 13th.-

Well I found some energy today and decided it was time to clean out my bedroom closet! This is the catch all room in our house. Everything that has no place seems to go in there.

In looking and putting things in place, I came across the Happy/Kids Meals from MickyD's, BurgerKing, Wendy's, TacoBell(some really good ones from here) toys that at one time I was collecting several years ago(most are at least 7/8 years old and older) OMG, there are soooo many of them(guessing about 200) and now I think its time to get rid of them. All are unopened(as I thought they were worth more money if I ever decided to sell them), and am thinking now I will let Kyree play with them, as she loves surprises, something her grandmother (Robin)taught her.
I dumped them all over my bed(Calif. King) and that's today's Picture.
I laugh just thinking about how I used to beg my grandkids for their Happy Meal toys before they opened them, and sometimes I was lucky enough to get it from them, if it happened to be one they already had, not a chance if it was a new one! LOL

Monday, January 12th-

All quiet again today-Kimmi and Steven spent the night again. Ashley and Kyree still in Georgia-says she is hoping to go to Disney on Friday or Sat.

-------

Today's pic is of my very favorite TV show "24", which started the new season last night and I had to make a choice of it or Housewives, so I chose Housewives as it was only an hour and then I got to watch Brothers and Sisters. So today I jumped online and power watched all of "24"! Woohoo, 4 hours of it straight and then tonite its on again for another 2 hours. Its one of the few shows that I really hate having to wait a whole week inbetween shows. My picture is of it playing on my laptop, came out pretty good I think.

Sunday, January 11th.-

Today I would like to introduce you to my second oldest grandaughter-Lacee. She is going to be 17 on the 14th. of this month, she is a wonderful student, and has worked for the last two years at Burger King, is in Marching band and drama club in school(11th grade). She loves computers and the such. A couple of years ago she asked for the iPod (80) and got it for Christmas, and I know she must have slept with it! Then last year it was the PSP, which she received and it was her new best friend, but she still was attached to her iPod, until the fateful day when it stopped working! OMG, I know her world came to a screaching halt! We did all we could and was finally informed by Apple that it was a goner. The drive had failed and the warrenty was up on it. After several weeks, she finally gave up and it was put to rest. Then she started with wanting a replacement for it and of course the iPhone was top on her list. She called me almost everyday to remind me it was on the top of her list-and to make a long story short-she received it. Notice the case on it-from her cousin Ashley for Christmas and it was perfect for her. Now we spend hours on itunes when she comes over to update it.

Sat. January 10th.-
Gosh today really was a very quiet day. Spent most of the day just catching up on my TV shows I had recorded on the DVR. Cold Case, Without a Trace and a couple of Christmas movies from the Hallmark Channel.
------
Kristee's friend Jolene went home to go shopping with her mom and Kristee and Lizze went to her house for the nite, so no kids here till tomorrow! Yipee!
------
Talked to Ashley for a quick minute and they(Ashley, Kyle and Kyree) were shopping in a big Mall in Florida and were having a great time.
Said the weather was a cool 70 there today! Ha! She should be here, where the temp is 21 and its now snowing like the dickens. Which is what my pic of today is.
It has been snowing all over the lower part of the state since yesterday, but not a flake here until about two hours ago, and now its really coming down. The pic was taken out my front door toward the street(which is a main street here). The street is now covered completely and if this keeps up long, the snowblower will be working again tomorrow morning.
I love how the snowflakes look in the dark with just a single streetlight in the backround.
Done for today-going back to watch some more movies on the DVR.
Have a great one!

Friday-January 9th-
Well all is pretty quiet around here today.
Ashley and Kyree arrived all safe and sound in KingsBay Georgia. They are visiting Ashleys boyfriend Kyle, whom is stationed on the USS Florida.
-------
Talked to Creating Keepsakes again about the 365 kit and was informed that I did not get in on the first shipment as they told me I was the first of the week. So now I am on the wait list for about 4/6 weeks. Grrrrrrr
-------
Kristee has two of her girl friends spending the nite, so the house will be full of laughing teenagers, and lots of loud music. Oh fun!
-------

Today I am sharing a pic of my China Cabinet and clean and sparkly.
Just before Christmas I took everything out and washed it, plus cleaned the entire cabinet both inside and out. I have been collecting blue glass for many years. Some of my pieces are antiques and some are newer, but I love them all. Also have lost many favorite pieces to breakage(moving and boxes getting dropped, and have sat down and cried when it happened) Also have several pieces of Carvinal glass. but most of it has the paint worn off.
Thats about it for today-
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend

Thursday Jan. 8th-

Today's pic is of Kyree Lynn playing with Papa. She is feeling his picky beard and laughing at him as he makes funny noises. Who do you suppose is having the most fun? LOL She really is this happy all the time and a joy to be around, but very willfull, and knows what she wants and doesn't want and lets you know.

Wed. January 7th.-
Well here we are already a week into the New Year! Wow.
Allergies are acting up pretty bad today, so spent most of the morning laying in bed-yuck!
----------
Just received word that my Grandaughter, Ashley, along with Great Grandaughter, Kyree are going on a trip to Georgia to spend time with Ashley's boyfriend, Kyle. Kyle is in the Navy and Stationed in Georgia.
His main job is on the Subs and he will be shipping out in a couple of weeks, so Ashley and Kyree are going to visit before he leaves(they will be gone 10 days, leaving on Friday this week). Hope they have a fun and safe trip. Will miss and worry about them both until they are home safe.
-----------
Todays pic is of my new toy I picked up the day after Christmas on sale at Kohls. I have to tell you I love, love, love it! Its a Keurig Coffee Maker-single cup. The only problem is, its not easy to find the K-cups around here. The only place I have found is Meijers and they were almost completely sold out, so online I went looking. OMG, there are soooo many flavors and brands, a person doesn't know where to start. So the first place I went to was Keurig site and seen all the different brand and flavors, then went price comparing. Found the Butter Toffee(decaf-which I prefer) on eBay for a great price with free shipping and ordered two boxes. Then found Coffeewiz.com and they have tons and tons and have free shipping with a 50 dollar order, so I ordered several different flavors and brands to try them all, including Hot Chocolate. I have only tried the Butter Toffee today and have to tell you, I know I have died and went to heaven!
Everyone NEEDS one of these machines!
----------
Oh and I got in touch with Creating Keepsakes today and they told me my order was in time to get one of the first shipment of 365 Kits by Becky Higgins! WooHoo
----------
That's it for today-hope you have a good one

January 6th-
So today I am going to intoduce you to our wonderful Great Grandaughter-Kyree Lynn-22.5 months. Of course she is the smartest, most beautiful child alive! LOL
Her Mom(Ashley, our oldest Grandchild) and her Grandma(Robin, our oldest daughter) both work, so there are many days a week when we get to babysit her. She comes to us early in the a.m. , still in her jammies, waiting for me to give her breakfast, then get dressed for the days adventures.
OMG, she is sooo active and sits in one spot for no more then 30 seconds at a time. Her little fingers do not miss a thing, and you cannot take your eyes off her. Her favorite thing to do is watch Sesame Street. She loves it.
She can count with them, say her alphabet, knows most of her body parts, how to undress herself, and is beginning to learn her colors. All this at 22 months is amazing to me. I should warn you, DO NOT get in front of her or bother her when she is watching Sesame Street. Its like her life line! LOL
Today I am sharing 3 pictures of her, which are hard to take as she doesn't stay in one place long. The last is of her trying to lay down in the Bookcase we have just moved back into the living room(notice, her blankie, never far away), after the tree was taken down. The middle is of her giving kisses(and boy does she love to give hugs and big kisses) to her huge Teddy Bear we got for her. Its a least twice the size of her. The first is of her watching Sesame Street. Look how intent she watches it. Amazing.
Well that's it for day 6.
More tomorrow-day 7
Have a wonderful day!

January 5th-

This is our newest member of the family-Meet Payne.

She really is a pain, so the name fits perfectly.

This is her story.

Last winter in the middle of a snow storm, late at night, Kimmi stopped over, and in the door with her came a stray cat. Of course, the whole house came to a stop to check out the visitor. Well needless to say, there was no way the cat was being put back out in the middle of a snow storm.

After many many days of her visiting, and I might add, not using the litter box well (she assumed thats what my house plants were for, my curtains were her privite trees to climb),I made up my mind that the Visiting cat must go, to Kristee and Kimmi's dismay. The day I decided to take her to the Humane Society, Robin says to me "Mom, I think she is getting really fat"! OMG, don't tell me, the Visitor is preggy! Now I feel guilty enough to say ok, she can stay, but we are NOT keeping any kittens! And she better become house broken soon. Well the night finally came, when one of Gods most wonderous things happen, we had four of the most cutest kittens! Ahh, then the fight begins, six long weeks of we are Not keeping one of the kittens, our Visitor still using my plants, curtains, and will not stop trying to get outside(we live in the city on a very busy street), the decision was made. We contacted a friend at the Humane Society, and she had a friend owning a farm, so off went our Visitor and Welcome to our family Payne, one of the kittens. If you have any doubts about her being a Pain, believe me, she is! She just thinks she owns the house, Tilli, will not tolerate her at all, Missy, just laughs at her when she gets bossy with her, and Tomi, well he voices his opinion frequently and loudly at her, which in turn drives me nuts. She is on top of everything, don't even open anything as she will try to get inside, include the fridge and freezer and bathroom drawers, loves to play in the bathtub, and has now learned to turn on the tub water taps, so we have to keep the bathroom door closed. She took the dog treats from the kitchen shelf, dragged the bag upstairs and hid it under my bed! Not once but twice, so now I have to hide the bag of dog treats! She steals my Hall's cough drops all the time, so I have to keep them hid also.

Anywhos' you have now met Payne, our newest family member.

January 4th-

Meet Kristee-13. She is our youngest grandaughter, whom we are raising.

She is becoming quite a beautiful young lady, but being a new teenager, she knows it all! And we have many disagreements every day.

January 3-

Steve (grandson,19) and girlfriend, Kimmi spending the night. As you can tell there are no extra beds in our home, so they get out the lawn chair cushions and spread them on the floor in the living room to sleep on.
Oh, and that's Tomi trying to find a comfortable spot with them.

There are days when we have all six grandkids here at the same time and they all sleep on the floor spread all over, and don't seem to mind, cause they keep on coming back, and often!

January 2-

Hubby packing up the Christmas tree! WooHoo, done for another year!

This pic was taken on day 1 (Jan. 1, 2009) of myself. This is what I call a perfect time in a day.

I am in my bathrobe, eating a bowl of Campbell's Potato soup (my favorite) with a glass of milk, reading e-mail (I own two yahoo groups-Cricut_Chatter and Cricut-Chatter_Jr), with the Red Wings playing (and winning-Go Wings) on TV and my Wii close by. Any yes that is an ashtray, I know I should quit. As you can see, my scrapping desk is a mess, as all the Christmas stuff seemed to land on it.

New Year

Well this is day 4 of the new year(2009) and I have decided to keep a record of my year in Pictures. Got this idea from Becky Higgins, (Creating Keepsakes)and hope to be one of the lucky ones to get the 365 kit she is offering for the year.
So I will be posting a daily picture and blogging about what ever comes to me every day. I have already taken a picture each day and will get them posted (will try to post my daily pic everyday)

A bit about myself.

I am 61, live in Michigan, married(9 years) and have two grown daughters, Robin-42 and Stacie-34. Both are divoriced and are at this time in a relationship. Robin has two children, Ashley-21 and Trevor-16(17 in Feb). Ashley has a daughter, Kyree Lynn(22 months), whom is my first Great Grandchild.
Stacie has four children, Steven-19, Lacee-17(in a week),Kelcee-15, and Kristee-13. Kristee is living with us(been here for 3 years now) and certainly keeps us on our toes! Was sure my days of raising a teenager were over many years ago! Surprise! Like many other grandparents raising grandkids.
I love to watch TV, scrapbook, crochet, knit a bit and most crafts in general and read romance books. Also love to play Pogo and Big Fish games online and currently am hooked on the new Animal Crossing on the Wii.
I worked most of my life and was permanetly laid off from my job (15 years) 1.5 years ago, so have lots of free time to just play now. DH retired 4 years ago from sailing the Great Lakes for 45 years, so he too has lots of play time now. I hate to travel and he too, likes to be home now, so it works for both of us.
We have 2 Yorkies, Tomi and Tilli, 2 cats, Missy and Payne, whom you will be meeting though the pics of the year.
As you will see, there are not to many dull moments around here.
